How to use this assessment

Find an Accountability Partner

When it comes to new habits and change, many of us start out with good intentions but lack the discipline to follow through with our plans. This is where a great accountability partner comes into play. Make it a point to pair up with an accountability partner who can help you follow through on your development. The ideal accountability partner is usually someone of the same gender or at times a spouse. This person committed to helping you deal with life and all that it offers. They should be a person who encourages you and challenges you to live fully engaged with your new life in Christ.

Take the Spiritual Health Assessment

If you haven't already taken the spiritual health assessment, stop right now and take it. This assessment is a tool designed to give you a snapshot of your spiritual health, and pinpoint areas that may need to be addressed within your spiritual walk. For the individual who really wants clarity and accountability, it is recommended that you ask a friend or spouse to fill out the Friend Feedback Assessment. You might notice that one area of your spiritual life scores lower than the others. Don't panic! Remember that this is about gaining insight to take steps forward.

Identify and Choose a Step

After taking the spiritual health assessment it is time to identify and choose action steps to apply into your life. This assessment offers suggested action steps to take based on where you might be developmentally. Specific action steps can be taken in relation to each of the questions found in the spiritual health assessment. Depending on where you are in your journey you may choose a beginning step (Crawl), an intermediate step (Walk), or a more advanced step (Run). The crucial point is that you need to be taking steps and what you might find is that this is where an accountability partner really comes into play. Try to identify at least two action steps that you can take for each area of discipleship addressed in the spiritual health assessment and identify a third action step in the area you scored lowest.

Transfer the Steps to the Own It Development Plan and Apply

Once done transfer the steps you have chosen to the Own It Development Plan and apply appropriately. Have a conversation with your accountability partner at least ever other week on your development and remember the goal is progress!
